There are so many ways to make an origami pen holder. I made my pencil holder using A4 size origami paper. I thought to give a unique look at my work table with homemade Pen holder.
Step 1: Take Origami Paper to Create a Pen Holder
Start with origami paper. To cut a perfect square from an A4 size plain paper, fold paper into a right-angled triangle. However, you can use square paper as well if you have it. Similarly, you can make this with different coloured paper.
Step 2: Fold and Trim Extra Paper From the Base to Form a Triangle
Fold the paper and measure it in such a way you can make perfect square out of it. After that, trim off the excess paper from the base to get the proper square shape. Always use only small scissors as it will help you in making a detailed cut.
Always make sure to cut a little extra in order to reduce the chances of spoiling the craft.
Step 3: Open Out the Fold to Make a Square
Further, open out the fold to make square. Therefore, square paper is the best way to make an origami pen holder.
Step 4: Fold Your Square into Equal Half
Take a square piece of paper and fold it in equal half. Now open the square paper and fold it again in two separate halves inside of the paper so that we proceed to the next step.
You can also follow as shown in the image.
Step 5: First Fold the Two Corners of the Paper
Once the above said folding is done open the folding. As shown in the images below you can clearly see all the folding. Now start folding the corners of the paper respectively.
For your reference, I have also tried explaining through the image below.I hope this will help you to understand better.
Step 6: Second Folding of the Paper to Make Pen Holder
After the corner folding is done, fold the paper from the other end till the centre. As described in the picture below, hold the measurement to make the next folding.
Step 7: Third Folding to Make a Pen Stand
As mentioned above, fold the paper right in the center . Then, as shown below, fold it right opposite exposing the inner foldings. But make sure you are not in hurry while folding.
If folding is not proper then your craft will not be in the exact shape which you are trying for.
Step 8: Join Both Ends in Slowly Making a Pen Stand
Now once the paper is inserted well go ahead with further process. Firstly, apply a little glue and stick with the other end by inserting it properly. Then, press it gently and leave to dry for 2-5 minutes under the fan.
Make sure to join both ends properly. Similarly, make 6 boxes following the same method.
Step 9: Making the Butterfly Cut out for Decoration
Take a piece of green coloured paper and draw an outline of a butterfly. Similarly, cut the star using small scissors.Apply a little glue at the backside of the cutout and further stick it at the center of the pen holder
You can also use any plain paper or any other colour paper and any other shape also. I love butterflies, so I am making it here.
Step 10: Join the Individual Holders to Create a Final Pen Holder
Take one individual box at a time and apply glue. Apply glue at the sides of the box and start to stick one by one similarly. Make sure to spread it evenly while you do the step.
Most importantly, leave to dry for 2 – 5 minutes in each box before sticking further.Similarly apply all box using a good quality glue.
Step 11: Create the Base for the Pen Holder
Take any colour of card stock paper. And draw the outline of the base of the pen holder keeping the pen standing on it. Once the outline is ready, cut the outline slowly using small scissors.
