I always do some and other changes on my work table however that keeps me motivated and also gives positive vibes. This time I thought to make my own designed pencil holder and decorate it on my table.
I am here to share with you my pencil holder idea. Just follow 16 simple steps to make an origami pencil holder for kids.
Step 1: Use Origami Paper to Create a Pencil Holder
First of all, take origami paper of any colour of your choice. However, if you have a square sheet then good else take A4 size paper to make it.
Step 2: Convert A4 Size Paper into a Square Paper
First of all, fold the paper from one corner until another corner and flatten it well as you can see in the image below. Further, cut the extra from the base using a medium-sized scissor.
Step 3: Fold the Paper into two Half
First of all, fold the paper into equal half from both sides and make a proper crease on it. After that, you can see four boxes on the paper due to fold. So following that you have to fold the paper into two equal half as you can see in the image below.
Similarly, fold it from the other side also and make a proper crease on each fold.
Step 4: Make Corner Fold
Here you can see boxes all over the paper due to foldings. However, you have to fold all four corners one by one and flatten it well.
Step 5: Make a Center Fold
After the corner folding is done make the centerfold of the paper into two separate halves right in the center. However, you can see in the image below.
Step 6: Fold the Paper from the Center
After the above fold the paper into equal half and make a proper crease as you can see below.
Step 7: Fold the Paper According to the Center Line
Now you have a centerline so following that fold the sides until the centerline.
Step 8: Make Use of Cardstock Paper
I am taking a green coloured cardstock paper to further outline the rectangular strip. Further, cut it out slowly using a medium-sized scissor. However, you can choose any colour paper of your choice.
Step 9: Insert the Paper Strip Inside the Folding
You have a paper strip which you have cut it above so insert the paper strip cutout slowly in between one end of the paper folding. And further, slowly join both ends as shown in the image below.
NOTE: If you find the paper is longer than needed then trim it off slightly. Further, try to insert it well.
Step 10: Join Both Ends Slowly
After insertion of the cardstock paper pushes both sides slowly towards the center for proper paper insertion.
Step 11: Making the Star Cut out for Decoration
Take a piece of glitter paper and outline the star. Similarly, cut the star using small scissors. Further, apply a little glue at the backside of the cutout and further stick it at the center of the pencil holder.
You can also use plain colour paper and any other season. However, a star is one of my favorites, so I am making it here. I have used the same star decoration to create paper stockings.
Step 12: Join all the Boxes to Each Other
Now apply little glue at the sides of each box one by one and stick to each other slowly. Further, leave to dry for about 5 minutes under the fan and in-room temperature.
Step 13: Create the Base for the Pencil Holder
Take any colour of card stock paper and outline the base of the pencil holder keeping the pencil stand on it. However, once the outline is ready cut the outline slowly using medium scissor.
Make sure you always use medium scissors for a detailed cut.
Step 14: Make Use of Glue to attach the Base of Pencil Holder
Now apply glue at the bottom edge of the pencil holder. Further, place the card-stock cutout gently, and let it dry for at least 5 minutes under the fan.
NOTE: But don’t apply glue over it, as it will sneak inside the holder and spoil the craft.
